Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • Wood chips (apple or hickory recommended)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the chicken breasts and pat dry.
  • Rub each breast with olive oil and then generously apply the mixture of salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.

Preheat the Smoker:

  • Preheat your smoker to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add the wood chips to the smoker.

Smoking the Chicken:

  • Place the chicken breasts directly on the grill grates in the smoker.
  • Close the lid and smoke the chicken until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit, typically about 60 to 75 minutes.

Resting

  • Remove the chicken from the smoker and let it rest for 10 minutes under a foil tent. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the meat.
