Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Chicken thighs or breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 3 tbsp Harissa paste adjust based on your spice preference
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1/4 black pepper
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine Harissa paste, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a homogeneous marinade.
  • Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl and allow the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, though several hours or overnight is preferable for deeper flavor.

Cook the Chicken:

  • Preheat your grill, broiler, or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Grill the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the outside is slightly charred and crispy.

Serve

  • Transfer the cooked chicken to a serving platter. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or parsley. Serve with a side of couscous, flatbread, or a fresh salad.
